Rescue Pets is operated by XDT Labs LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Rescue Pets mobile app and website (collectively, "Services").

1. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use the Services. We may collect:

• Information you provide directly — such as your name and email address when you create an account, sign in, or contact us. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information (such as your name and email) from your Google account.
• Location information — your device's approximate or precise location, used to show you adoptable pets and rescue organizations near you and to calculate distances. See Section 2 for details.
• Usage information — such as screens you view, actions you take (like saving a favorite), and the time, date, and duration of your activity, where relevant to operating the Service.
• Device information — such as your device type, operating system version, and app version, used to diagnose issues and improve compatibility.

We do not collect more data than is necessary to provide the Service.

2. Location Information

With your permission, the Rescue Pets app collects your device's approximate or precise location so we can show you adoptable pets and rescue organizations near you, sort results by distance, and provide directions to shelters. You may also enter a location manually instead of sharing your device location.

You can grant or revoke location access at any time in your device's settings. If you choose not to share your location, you can still use the app by entering a location manually, though some features may be limited. We use your location to power these features and do not sell it or use it for advertising.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our Services
• Show you nearby adoptable pets and shelters and calculate distances
• Save your account preferences and favorited pets
• Respond to your support requests and communications
• Understand how our Services are used so we can make them better
• Protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not share your personal information with third parties except in the following circumstances:

• Service providers — trusted vendors who help us operate our Services (for example, hosting, authentication, mapping, and analytics providers such as Google Firebase and Google Maps), bound by confidentiality obligations.
• Legal requirements — when required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate notice to you.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address below. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Third-Party Links and Services

Our Services may link to third-party websites or services that we do not operate, such as rescue organization websites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you visit.
